In order to give everyone the best possible experience and safeguard the space and the health of an immunocompromised studio owner, we have the following policies in place. By booking time at Silver Moon Sound, you agree to follow them.
Wellbeing
- Do not come to your session if you're sick.
- Do not come if you might be sick.
- Do not come if you've been in contact with someone sick in the past week.
No exceptions.
If any of these apply to you, you will be rescheduled at no charge.
What you think of as “the sniffles” could make me (the owner/engineer) too ill to work for several months. So please don’t be the person who messes up my health and my business.
Studio Equipment
- Do not place anything on the piano other than sheet music.
- Do not place anything on the engineer’s desk.
- Do not touch the studio speakers or place anything on top of them.
- Do not adjust mic stands or mics.
- Do not unplug or plug in anything that doesn’t belong to you.
Hygiene & Masks
All artists who play the piano must first wash their hands with soap and water.
Eating and chewing gum are only permitted outside the studio.
Artists are not required to wear masks, but doing so is always welcome.
Guests of artists who come inside the building are required to wear a KN95 or better mask at all times indoors, provided at no charge.
The owner/engineer will wear an N95 mask around you at all times. I will not unmask if requested or for any other reason.
Timeliness
- Please arrive to your session 15 minutes early to get situated and set up.
- Notify the studio via text (831) 204-0714 if you are running late.
- If you are more than fifteen minutes late, the session may be rescheduled depending on other bookings that day.
Payment
A 50% deposit is due at the time of booking.
- The deposit is fully refundable until 24 hours before your session.
- If you are sick and thus not permitted to enter the studio, the deposit is applied to the rescheduled session time.
No-shows and last-minute cancellations are non-refundable.
Full payment is due at the time of the session. We accept checks, cash, Zelle, PayPal, and Venmo. Zelle is preferred.
Guests
Artists are permitted one guest.
- The engineer reserves the right to remove a guest from the premises if they are disturbing the session in any way.
- The guest must quietly observe the session from outside the studio.
- Only parents of minor children are permitted inside the recording space unless prior special arrangements have been made.
Minor Clients
Minors must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or adult relative at all times. The adult can either sit inside the studio or on the studio patio to observe.
We serve clients age thirteen and up.
- Exceptions for younger children may be made on a case-by-case basis if they demonstrate sufficient maturity and dedication to music—as determined by the owner's sole discretion.
- Silver Moon Sound is a professional recording studio, not a place for children to play.
Respect
At Silver Moon sound, all people are respected and welcomed regardless of gender, orientation, disability, nationality, religion, etc. No harrasment of any kind will be tolerated.
Drugs, alcohol, and tobacco may not be consumed on premises.
- If you have consumed any substances, you must come and leave with a sober driver.
- The road to the studio is steep and winding, and it is simply unsafe to come or leave if a driver has consumed any subtances.
